TERNI RUGBY NEL CUORE DELL'ABRUZZO

Tutti gli appuntamenti agonistici a livello nazionale e regionale che vedono coinvolte squadre e/o selezioni abruzzesi di rugby, sono al momento sospesi fino al 15 aprile. Lo ha comunicato la Lega Rugby "in attesa del perfezionamento delle informazioni relative all'accaduto, al fine di formulare coerentemente le decisioni relative al proseguio dell'attivita'".Si moltiplicano intanto le iniziative di solidarietà. La società del Rugby Terni è in contatto costante con il Comitato Abruzzese della FIR per offrire disponibilità e sostegno. Per gli aiuti bisogna passare comunque attraverso l'organizzazione della Protezione Civile. Resta valida però l'idea dell'ospitalità. Tra stamattina e oggi pomeriggio verranno raccolte le adesioni di chi è disponibile a ospitare bambini e ragazzi (fino a 15-17 anni) in che periodo, per quanti giorni e con quanti posti letto a disposizione. In considerazione del fatto che le autorità consentono l'accesso alle zone terremotate solo ed esclusivamente a persone e/o organizzazioni coordinate dalla Protezione Civile, il presidente Trombetta invita nel frattempo tutto il movimento rugbystico a voler donare il sangue presso le proprie sedi di appartenenza".Intanto sono purtroppo praticamente nulle le speranze di ritrovare in vita Lorenzo Sebastiani (nella foto), il giovane pilone dell'Aquila Rugby e promessa della palla ovale italiana di cui non si hanno più notizie. Il responsabile tecnico dell'Aquila Rugby, Massimo Mascioletti, aveva detto nella tarda serata di ieri "non abbiamo ancora notizie certe. Non sappiamo neanche se è crollata o meno casa sua. Stiamo vivendo delle brutte ore". Il giocatore quest'anno, in A2, è stato titolare in molte occasioni, arrivando anche a vestire l'azzurro nelle selezioni giovanili. Tra le tante storie drammatiche, anche il gesto eroico di Dario Pallotta altro giocatore dell'Aquila Rugby. Era infortunato e per questo non era andato con la squadra per la trasferta in Sardegna. Si trovava nella sua casa di piazza san Domenico, centro storico della città, quando il sisma l'ha svegliato e lui si è precipitato fuori di casa. Quando è sceso ha sentito dei lamenti dalla casa di fronte venire da tre anziane signore, due con la sedia a rotelle, una anche con la bombola di ossigeno, che non riuscivano a scendere. "Me le sono caricate una alla volta. Non la smettevano di ringraziarmi" ha raccontato al Corriere della Sera. Poi l'hanno raggiunto tre compagni di squadra, Stefano Varrella, Carlo Cerasoli e Lorenzo Bottini. E tutti insieme sono andati all'ospedale caricandosi a spalla i venti malati di ortopedia, padiglione che andava sgomberato perché pericolante.
